Abstract

This study examines about " The Phenomenon of the Korean Fashion Trend in Students of Palembang I Muhammadiyah High School through K-Drama and K-Pop Communities ". The purpose of this research is to see how students adopt Korean fashion trends to the process of interpreting Korean fashion trends as a lifestyle. The research method in this research using qualitative method research and use a accumulate data technique with observation, interview, and documentation. This study uses a cultural study theory from Stuart Hall. The results of the study found that students adopted Korean fashion trends such as through knowledge of Korean culture and the occurrence of an acceptance which later became a lifestyle and became a necessity until the formation of patterns of behavior and attitudes towards students that seemed excessive towards a problem and caused a misunderstanding in meaning a fashion trend that shapes the character and attitude of students in their daily lives ranging from the style of dress, accessories, and make up because of their passion for K-Drama and K-Pop.
