Abstract

The purpose this research is investigate the efforts of Indonesia and Malaysia in preventing drug trafficking in border areas from 2015 to 2018. Therefore, this study focuses on the cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia in reducing drug trafficking during that period. The research adopts the concept of international cooperation, specifically using the bilateral approach as outlined by Kalevi Jaakko Holsti. The methodology employed in this research is qualitative. utilizing qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The findings of the research indicate that the Indonesian government has emphasized prevention and uncovering of drug cases originating from Malaysia to disrupt and eradicate cross-border drug networks. Despite the majority of drugs originating from Malaysia, which shares direct land and sea borders, both countries continue to face challenges in comprehensive eradication. Through bilateral agreements, both nations have successfully identified drug entry routes through joint patrols along land and sea borders. Keywords: Indonesia, Malaysia, Bilateral, Borders
