Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai motivasi Argentina bergabung dalam kerjasama Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Tiongkok. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) oleh Feldstein dan Krugman, dalam Foreign Direct Investment terdapat 3 keuntungan FDI bagi negara tuan rumah atau negara penerima, yaitu Technology Transfer, Employment Sector, dan Economic Growth, Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder, yaitu meliputi buku, artikel, jurnal, website berita, dan website resmi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alasan Argentina bergabung dalam kerjasama Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Tiongkok adalah; (a) Technology Transfer, Argentina membutuhkan peralatan berteknologi tinggi dan tenaga ahli untuk proyek pembangunan infrastruktur, (b) Employment Sector yaitu membuka lapangan pekerjaan di Argentina melalui pembangunan pabrik tambang lithium dibawah Belt and Road Initiative di Argentina (c) Economic Growth, meningkatkan kerjasamanya dengan Tiongkok dan pertukaran mata uang Yuan di Argentina sehingga meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi Argentina. Kata Kunci: Foreign Direct Investment, Technology Transfer, Employment Sector, Economic Growth, Tiongkok, Argentina
