Abstract
A sewing machine is a mechanical or electromechanical device that plays a role in the sewing process. Nowadays, especially in the field of expertise such as clothing manufacturing, sewing machines are one of the important equipment. This study aims to evaluate the risk of body position and work environment of sewing operators using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method. This method helps identify potential ergonomic problems in tailors with subjects, namely female tailors with a total of 2 people aged 23 years and 45 years. There are eight stages carried out in this study, namely: 1) Reviewing the location of the research site, 2) Measuring the dimensions of the printing bench and body anthropometry, 3) Measuring the operator's heart rate, 4) Collecting Nordic Body Map (NBM) data, 5) Collecting Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) data, 6) measuring the tailor's body temperature, 7) measuring the temperature and humidity of the room, 8) Measuring the lighting and noise levels of the room. Work sewing work requires 4-8 hours a day with a posture that is often bent over, causing complaints of muscle and bone disorders such as pain or stiffness in the neck, shoulders, arms, back, waist, and legs. legs. This problem is related to ergonomics, the science of designing equipment and work environments according to the physical needs of humans. human physical needs. Tailors' work environments often do not meet ergonomic standards, such as high noise which results in hearing loss and errors. Keywords : Tailors, Occupational Health, Ergonomics, Work Environment, and Tailors' Productivity.
