Abstract
The global agreement at the UN COP-26 meeting urges all countries to gradually phase out the use of raw coal. Therefore, coal downstreaming is necessary. The coal product industry (KBLI 19100) in Indonesia will have a growing significance in the times ahead. However, currently, the concentration of the coal product industry is still high due to the limited number of companies in this sector. This study aims to analyze the impact of industry concentration and input costs on efficiency in the coal product industry (KBLI 19100) in Indonesia. The data used are secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) from 2010-2021, using a regression model to test the influence of independent variables on industrial efficiency. The results of this study indicate that industry concentration and input costs have a significant negative effect on efficiency. This means that if industry concentration and input costs increase, efficiency will decrease.
