Abstract
Coal mining activities at Pit 3 East Banko Barat PT. Bukit Asam, Tbk uses the surface mining system method. Coal mining with an open system is strongly influenced by weather factors, where weather can have an impact on mining operational activities. Based on field observations, Pit 3 East Banko Barat does not yet have a main sump, causing the mining front to be flooded. On this basis, a main sump design is needed in dealing with water problems. By designing the main sump, it is hoped that it can solve the water problem in Pit 3 East Banko West. Regarding the sump design, it will be designed in accordance with KEPMEN 1827 K/80/MEM/2018. Based on the catchment area of 294.95 Ha, it can be assumed that the total water discharge entering Pit 3 East Bangko Barat is 1.46 m3/s or 5,256 m3/hour. The sump design for Pit 3 East Bangko Barat has a volume of 551,148 m3, a top length and width of 310 meters, a depth design of 6 meters with an area of 96,100 m2, the length and width of the base of 296 meters with an area of 87,616 m2, a depth of 6 meters, and a slope of 450. For the recommendation to increase the number of pumps for the East Banko West Pit 3 sump design, 3 units of HH220i, 1 unit of LSA 6x8-25, and 1 unit of DND-200 MHX are needed.
