Abstract

Coal has different HGI (Hardgrove Grindability Index) values, in the Inul East pit of PT Kaltim Prima Coal which has 15 coal seams, some of which are seams K1, K4, K6, K12, K14 and K17LR which are divided into 3 products namely: Melawan, Pelikan 4800, and Pelikan 4300. This research aims to see the effect of coal HGI value on Cat 6015 backhoe digging time. The data processing used in this research is to analyze the correlation coefficient and determination of the HGI value of coal to the digging time and productivity of Cat 6015 backhoe. From the results of the correlation coefficient analysis of the HGI value of coal to digger digging time, a correlation value of -0.88 is obtained, which means that the HGI value of coal and backhoe has a strong correlation and the direction of the correlation is inversely proportional. The result of the coefficient of determination of coal HGI on digging time is 0.77, which means that the accuracy of predicting the value of digging time from the HGI value of coal reaches an accuracy of up to 77%. The results of the correlation coefficient analysis and the value of coal HGI to the productivity of Cat 6015 backhoe obtained a correlation value of 0.86 which means that the value of coal HGI and productivity has a strong correlation and the direction of the correlation is directly proportional and the result of the determination value is 0.75 which means that the accuracy in predicting the value of productivity from the existing coal HGI value reaches up to 75% accuracy. So that the results of the correlation and determination coefficient analysis indicate that the HGI value of coal does have a considerable influence on digging time and productivity.
