Abstract

Stunting is a condition of growth failure in toddlers due to chronic malnutrition, especially in 1,000 of the first Life Days(HPK). Stunting has the potential to slow down brain development, with long-term impacts in the form of mental retardation, low learning ability and the risk of chronic diseases attacks such as diabetes, hypertension, untill obesity. Lack of knowledge is also one of the causes of stunting. This purpose of the Study was to describe the knowledge of gravida mothers about stunting. The design of this study used a quantitative descriptive method. The population in this study were gravida mothers. The sample in this study were 13 people taken using the accidental sampling technique. This study was conducted in Tanjung Agung village. The data analysis used in this study was univariate analysis where all data was processed descriptively quantitatively and the results were reported in the form of a frequency distribution. The results of this study showed that most respondents had good knowledge were 9 respondents (69.2%) and respondents who had sufficient knowledge were 4 respondents (30.8%). From the results of this study, it is hoped that health service agencies can improve health education about stunting and its prevention in Tanjung Agung village.
