Abstract
Concrete confined walls are buildings with brick walls as the main structure with tie beams and columns as restraints. The wall is a building element that limits the space between rooms and has several functions, such as a barrier between inner and outer space, a barrier to light, rain, wind, and natural dust. ANSYS is a software that aims to solve various engineering problems numerically using the finite element method. The results of the analysis are hysteresis curves, ductility, stiffness, and cumulative energy dissipation. Observed the difference in strength performance of normal concrete confined wall structure using wall thickness as variation. Compared with PDT-1 and PDT-2, PDT-3 model has the largest drift ratio value. Among PDT-1, PDT-2 and PDT-3, PDT-1 has the largest ductility value and PDT-3 has the smallest ductility value. The PDT-3 model has the highest strength, stiffness, and cumulative energy dissipation values because it can withstand the largest load. The results of this study prove that wall thickness affects the strength of concrete confined walls in resisting cyclic loads.
