Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh model kooperatif tipe round table terhadap keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII SMP Srijaya Negara Palembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen semu. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 2 kelas yaitu kelas VII.A berjumlah 34 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan perlakuan model kooperatif tipe round table dan kelas VII.B yang berjumlah 35 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik tes. Pengolahan data yang digunakan adalah perhitungan uji-t menggunakan program SPSS 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil tes antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata tes awal kelas eksperimen 62,74 meningkat menjadi 84,79 pada tes akhir. Hal ini menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan sebesar 22,05. Nilai rata-rata tes awal kelas kontrol 59,83 meningkat menjadi 80,23 pada tes akhir. Hal ini menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan sebesar 20,04. Hasil analisis data dengan uji-t menunjukkan bahwa thitung = 3,981> ttabel 1,996 dengan df67 pada tingkat signifikan 95% (α=0,025). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi kelas VII SMP Srijaya Negara Palembang. Dengan demikian, Ha berbunyi “Ada perbedaan antara keterampilan siswa yang belajar dengan model kooperatif tipe round table dan siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model konvensional dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi” diterima. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model kooperatif tipe round table lebih berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII Srijaya Negara Palembang.
