Abstract

Pit X TAL Utara PT Bukit Asam plans to replace the excavation and haulage equipment with larger capacity due to increased production. If a tool is above the ground it will provide ground pressure which ground pressure from this tool must be smaller than the value of the bearing capacity of the soil. Therefore, Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) testing is carried out to determine the value of soil density in the form of California Bearing Ratio (CBR) values. From this CBR value, it will be converted into a soil bearing capacity value which will then be compared with the ground pressure value given by the largest mechanical device. The minimum soil bearing capacity value that can withstand the load from the Komatsu PC 3000 Shovel mechanical tool is 2,68 kg/cm2 and the HD BELAZ 75135 conveyance tool minimum soil bearing capacity is 8,20 kg/cm2. From the test results in the field, the value of soil bearing capacity at 134-114 m elevation is 6,95 kg/cm2, 114-94 m elevation is 7,02 kg/cm2, 94-74 m elevation is 7,37 kg/cm2, 74-54 m elevation is 8,18 kg/cm2 and 54-34 m elevation is 8,72 kg/cm2. The use of mechanical tools PC 3000 and HD Belaz 75135 can be used in the insitu material at elevation 54-34 m. For elevations that have a soil bearing capacity below the ground pressure of mechanical equipment, it is necessary to add layering material to increase soil stability. If the elevation 134-54 m is to be crossed by the Belaz 75135 conveyor, it is necessary to add material (layering) to increase the bearing capacity value of the soil.. The layer thickness for the base coarse layer is 12,7 cm and for the surface coarse layer is 17,78 cm.
