Abstract

Ikan gabus (Channa striata, Bloch 1793) merupakan ikan yang memiiki peminat yang tinggi sehingga ikan ini potensial dibudidayakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengenali dimorfisme seksual ikan gabus. Penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan menggunakan metode observasi secara langsung. Sampling dilakukan di rawa banjiran Sungai Kelekar secara purposive sampling. Pengukuran morfometrik serta pembedahan ikan dilakukan di Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan Universitas Sriwijaya. Parameter yang diamati meliputi karakter morfometrik, indeks gonadosomatik, indeks hepatosomatik, diamater telur dan fekunditas. Data ditabulasi dan diolah dengan menggunakan bantuan program Microsoft Excel 2019, dianalisis menggunakan uji t dan secara deskriptif. Data hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan ikan gabus jantan dan betina terletak pada lebar kepala (LK), lebar moncong mulut (LMM) dan panjang moncong mulut (PMM). Diameter oosit kisaran antara 1,56-2,24 mm. Fekunditas berkisar antara 1,502 hingga 16,846 butir telur. Nilai IGS ikan betina berkisar antara 0,04%-2% sedangkan pada ikan jantan berkisar 0,25%-1,14%. Nilai IHS pada ikan betina yaitu 0,29%-1,6% sedangkan pada ikan jantan berkisar 0,18%-0,77%.
