Abstract
The aims of this research were to know the influence of feed combination of azollae and pellet and also to know the optimum proportion of azollae and pellet for weight growth rate, the length growth, the food convertion ratio, the protein retention and survival rate of tilapia. The research has been done from September to October 2007 in Aquacultural Laboratory, Agricultural Faculty Sriwijaya University. 1,5 ± 0,5 gram weigth Tilapia fish was used in this current. 20 fish were placed in 25x25x25 cmJ aquarium. Feed combination has been given for 4 weeks. The feeding rate was 3% of fish biomassa which was given 3 times a day. Feed combinations were as follows : P1 (100% pellet), P2 (7% azollae and 93% pellet), P3 ( 14% azollae and 86% pellet), P4 (21% azollae and 79% pellet) and P5 (28% azollae and 72% pellet) The result of a this current research indicated that feed combination of 21% azollae and 79% pellet gave the highest value for daily retention protein (4,75%) and the best food convertion ratio (0,99). The optimum feed combination for the daily weight growth rate, the length growth, the food convertion ratio and retention protein were 21,00% - 24,01% azollae and 75,99% - 79,00% pellet. High survival rate of tilapia was reached in this research namely 88,33% - 90%.
