Abstract
The objective of the research was to evaluate the effect of foliar fertilizer application with different concentracion in order to increase the yield. The research was conducted at Research Station Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, from July 2007 to January 2008. The experimental design was Randomized BIock Design which consisted of five treatments and four replications. The treatments were tht foliar fertilizer concentrations from 0 (P0) to 4 g l'1 (P4) with the difference of 1 g I'1 for each treatment. The fertilizer was sprayed to the plant every week started from two weeks after transplanting with the volume of 400 to 800 1 ha'1. The results showed that applications of foliar fertilizer increased the yield from 4 ton ha'1 (P0) to 4,25 ton ha'1 up to 4,82 ton ha1 (6,25 % - 20,5 %), the total fruit weight harvested per plant from 241,9 g (P0) to 297,6 g up to 355,2 g (23,02 % - 46,83 %), and fruit weight average for each harvest per plant from 8,3 g (P0) to 9,4 g up to 12,3 g (13,25 % - 48,19 %), that was primarily related to the increase of fruit numbers per plant. Increasing the fertilizer concentration increased the yield and reached the maximum at the concentration of 3 g l'1 (P3).
