Abstract
The objective of research was to evaluate the effect of available groundwater content on the flowering and production of Jatropha curcas L. The research was conducted from February to June 2007 at research station of Agro Techno Park (ATP) Bakung village, North Inderalaya Subdistrict, OI regency South Sumatra Province. This research used completely randomized design with three treatments which were high level of groundwater content (30%-38%), medium level of groundwater content (22%-30%), and low level groundwater content (14%-22%). The result of the research showed that the treatments of groundwater content did not show influencing to almost all flower and fruit characters such as the number of blooming flower in each bunch, the duration of flowering time, the presentation of flower which became fruit, the number of fruit in each bunch, the duration of fruit ripe, the size of fruit, the seed production of each plant and seed oil content. However, the groundwater content treatment influenced the quality of jarak seed that were oil content of seed and the oil production of Jatropha L. The highest level of the seed oil content and the seed oil production resulted by high level of groundwater plant.
