Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) Identifying the factors that influence farmers to convert rubber plantations into rain-fed lowland rice fields as seen from the cost of rice production (Rp/Ha/Th), rice income (Rp/Ha/Th), rubber land area (Ha), and the number of dependents of the family (people) of the Lubuk Seberuk Village Lempuing Jaya Subdistrict Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. 2) Analyzing the differences in farmers 'income before and after converting rubber plantations to rainfed lowland rice starting from the total production cost, revenue and income, so that differences in farmers' income are obtained before and after converting rubber plantations to rainfed lowland rice Case Lubuk Seberuk Village Lempuing District Jaya Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. This research was conducted in Lubuk Seberuk Village, Lempuing Jaya subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. Site selection is done deliberately (purposive sampling location) with survey methods. The research data was collected in February 2019. Sampling was done by census method. In this study the number of samples taken from the total population who converted from rubber plantations to rainfed lowland rice were 30 farmers. Primary and secondary data collection methods. From the results of the study, factors affecting farmers to convert rubber plantations into rainfed lowland rice: The case of Lubuk Seberuk Village Lempuing Jaya Subdistrict Ogan Komering Ilir Regency which significantly affected the cost of rice production (Rp/ha/th), rice income (Rp/ha/th), and the area of ​​rubber land (ha), while the number that does not significantly affect the number of dependents of the family (people). There is a difference in income before and after farmers convert rubber plantations into rainfed lowland rice with an average income of farmers before converting of Rp15.213.017,98 hectares per year and average income of farmers after converting at Rp38.828.120,37 hectares per year with a difference of Rp23.615.102,40 hectares per year.
