Abstract
The development of citronella plants not only contributes to agricultural development, but also improves the community's economy. The development of citronella oil processing in rural areas is one of the strategic steps in spurring regional economic growth, apart from being able to increase employment opportunities, increase added value and competitiveness, as well as the income of farmers of essential oil producing plants. The aim of this service activity is to transfer knowledge regarding potential plants, namely the citronella plant. Providing knowledge and information regarding the benefits and market opportunities for citronella plant commodities. Provide knowledge about derivative products from Citronella Essential Oil. This service was carried out at the Burai Village Head's Office in Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The number of members of the farmer group is 25 people, consisting of Burai Village officials, agricultural extension workers and farmers as the target audience. The method used is counseling and providing citronella plant seeds and the introduction of processed products made from citronella essential oil. Farming communities/target audiences gain knowledge about citronella plants, processing processes and market opportunities.This citronella plant commodity is not difficult to cultivate, and is easy to maintain and suits the existing land conditions in Burai Village. The target audience needs assistance from various parties to develop citronella plant commodities in Burai Village, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency, both morally and materially, to improve the welfare of the target audience
