Abstract

Gold commodities are natural resources that have high economic value and have an important role in the mining sector and the national economy. Based on this, mining requires mine planning with the principle of pit optimization. One of the companies that produce gold is PT Minevesting Resources Indonesia Site PT XYZ, North Sulawesi, where the company's Mining Business License Area is located in Southeast Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. PT XYZ plans to conduct a review related to updating the amount of reserves in order to evaluate and assess whether to continue mining activities or close it. In addition, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of fluctuations in selling prices and operating costs on changes in NPV and IRR. The optimization process in this study uses Surpac 6.6.2 and Whittle 4.7.4 software based on the Lerch-Grossmann Algorithm method. Meanwhile, the estimation process carried out in the prospect area uses Surpac 6.6.2 software. The research was conducted using the literature study method and processing secondary data from PT Minevesting Resources Indonesia such as block models, topographic maps, and cost parameters. From the mining design, the amount of ore and waste that can be mined, the average grade of minerals, and the profit from mining can be determined. The modifying factor used to convert resources to reserves are mining factors (pit optimization and pit design) and economic feasibility. After reviewing the modifying factors and designing the ultimate pit limit design, the optimization results obtained gold reserves that are technically and economically feasible to mine with a cut-off grade of 0.61 g/t, which is estimated at 1.5 million tons with an average grade of 1,62 g/t. In addition, based on the results of the economic sensitivity analysis, it shows that changes in operating costs will be inversely proportional to NPV, while changes in selling prices and sales costs are directly proportional to NPV.
