Abstract
ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF VARIATIONS IN CROSS-SECTIONAL DIAMETER OF THE NOZZLE TO THE DISTANCE THE FLUID JETS EXIT Scientific Paper in the form of skripsi, 17 March 2017. M. Ayattullah Armaein, supervised by Ir. Hj. Marwani, M.T Analisis Pengaruh Variasi Ukuran Diameter Penampang Nozzle Terhadap Jarak Pancaran Fluida Yang Keluar xvi + 47 Pages, 17 Tables, 34 Picture. Nozzle is a component that has an important role to secrete a substance with a spray form (break) or by increasing the speed of the substance. The function of the nozzle is generally to increase the speed of the flow of a substance that is followed by a pressure drop. Nozzle can be distinguished based on the substance used, namely a nozzle to the airflow, nozzle for fluid flow. Nozzle with fluid flow have two kinds, namely the transmitter straight nozzle and nozzle with a transmitter spread (spray). Nozzle with transmitter straight nozzle that produces a stream of high pressure fluid to increase the speed of the fluid. Nozzle with transmitters spread (spray) is a nozzle that produces fluid flow dispresi width, similar to a garden hose like raindrops. The efficiency of the pump is influenced by the cross-sectional shape of the nozzle. From the testing that has been done that the smaller the diameter of the cross section of the nozzle flow is constant then generate distance jets of fluid that comes out of the nozzles was further away, where the size of the diameter of the cross section of this nozzle can be seen that the size of the diameter of the cross section of the nozzle 5 mm in flow rate 25 L / min generates pressure of 9.5 psi with fluid jets reaching distance of 4.55 m. The nozzle is inspired by the oldest fire extinguisher nozzle that is smooth bore nozzle.
