Abstract

Safety climate is a measure of safety culture that corresponds to a common perception between individuals in an organization. Safety behavior itself is a person's action that minimizes work accidents while working. Safety behavior has caused 70% of the cause of the high number of accidents among workers in Indonesia because safety behavior is not implemented. The number of accidents in Indonesia in 2023 has reached 370,747 cases of work accidents and as many as 217 cases of work accidents occurred in the mining industri in Indonesia. The aim of the research is to analyze the safety climate on safety behavior among PT workers. Bukit Asam Creative Site PT. X Tanjung Enim Mining Unit. This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 158 people. Analyzes were carried out univariate and bivariate. Safety climate analysis is by using the Nordic Occupational Safety Climate Questionnaire (NOSACQ-50) and using the Safety Behavior questionnaire. The research results showed that 86.7% of workers had positive safety behavior. There are several dimensions of safety climate that are related to safety behavior, namely the priority and commitment dimension of management (p-value=0.046), the empowerment dimension of safety management (p-value=0.022), the justice dimension of safety management (p-value=0.038), the dimension of commitment workers towards work safety (p-value=0.048), the dimension of worker safsety priority and not tolerating the risk of danger (p-value=0.040) and the dimension of trust in the effectiveness of the work safety system (p-value=0.032). Meanwhile, dimensions that are not related to safety behavior are learning, communication and innovation dimensions (p-value=0.192). Management and workers must care more about safety at work and always maintain a good safety climate. Keywords : safety climate, safety behavior, workers Bibliography : 66 (1970-2024)
