Abstract

The number of serious accidents case at PT. Sunan Rubber Palembang due to work until they are referred to the hospital from 2010 to 2013 has decreased in which there were 7 casesin 2010, 6 cases in 2011, and 3 cases in 2012. However, there was an increasing number of cases occurred in 2017 to be 16 cases in which 60 percents of them occurred at Production Area 1 of PT. Sunan Rubber Palembang. And the number of minor accident case occurred at PT. Sunan Rubber Palembang were 100 to 120 cases each year. The purpose of this study was to assess work safety risk on production workers at PT. Sunan Rubber Palembang. This study applied qualitative research design using deep interview method, Worksheet Job Safety Analysis, and table of semi-quantitative risk assessment AS/NZ 4360: 1999. The number of informan in this study were 6 workers at PT. Sunan Rubber Palembang. The result of this study showed that most of the workers at the production unit have known the accident risk, the huge of consequency, and the possibility of having work accidents at production Unit 1. Based on the result of risk evaluation working at the production unit, it was found that there were five levels of risk namely very high, priority 1, substanial, priority 3, and acceptable. The action that needs to be done on the risk level of very high is by stopping work activities until the risk could be minimized, while on the risk level of priority 1, the action is done by providing remidial action soon, on the risk level of substantial, the action is done by providing remidial action during working process, while on the risk level of priority 3, the action is done by doing sustainable monitoring and on the level of acceptable, the action is done by minimizing working intensity. It could be concluded that workers at PT. Sunan Rubber Palembang had known the work accident risk, the consequency, and the possibility of having work accident at the Production Process Unit I. From the five risk level working at PT. Sunan Rubber Palembang, prevention action is necessary to minimize the work accidents.
