Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of bank ownership and institutional quality on banking stability in Southeast Asia, using firm size and firm growth as control variables. The population of this research includes banking companies in Southeast Asia from 2013 to 2022, specifically from the ASEAN-5 countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. Based on data availability, the sample consists of 10 periods with 100 companies, resulting in a total of 1000 panel observations. The results of the panel data linear regression analysis using Eviews12 indicate that bank ownership and institutional quality significantly influence banking stability.
