Abstract
Pneumonia is the biggest cause of death in children worldwide. In 2021, Palembang City has the third largest number of cases in South Sumatra Province with a percentage of pneumonia cases in toddlers of 31%. This study aims to spatially analyze the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers based on physical environmental factors and demographic factors in the city of Palembang in 2018-2022. The research design is a descriptive ecological study by conducting spatial analysis modeling using QGIS software tools. The research population covers the entire sub-district area of Palembang City taken over a period of 5 years. The sample from this research is data on pneumonia cases in toddlers. The analysis technique carries out spatial analysis using QGIS visualization analysis software and overlay techniques and bivariate analysis using the Spearman Correlate test with the SPSS software program. The results of spatial analysis show that the prevalence of pneumonia is fluctuating. The variable overlay of high air humidity has an effect on the prevalence of pneumonia, while other variables do not show a tendency towards cases that occur. The results of the correlation test show that there is no significant relationship between the variables studied and the prevalence of pneumonia in toddlers in Palembang City. In the variables of air temperature and air humidity, the direction of the relationship is positive. If these variables are high, then the prevalence of pneumonia will be high. Meanwhile, the variables percentage of healthy homes, population density, and IMCI have a negative pattern. If the above variables are low, the prevalence of pneumonia will increase, so that to prevent the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers, the Palembang City Health Office carries out regular and special pneumonia surveillance activities in toddlers and in the community. can strive to build healthy houses that meet ventilation and lighting requirements, namely maintaining good air circulation and immediately bringing toddlers who experience respiratory problems to basic health services.
