Abstract

This research purposed to know the influence of organic and anorganic fertilizer for increasing kailan growing. The research has been done from July to September 2008 at Faculty of Agriculture experiment, Sriwijaya University. The research used a group of Randomized Block Design Method, under seven treatments and four replications, there by number of unit was 28, each of the unit contained five plants so whole of unit was 140 plants. The treatment were consisted of zero fertilizer (A), 1.25 g of urea fertilizer (Ni), 2.5 g of urea fertilizer (N2), 1.25 kg of chicken manure (POAi), 2.5 kg of chicken manure (POA2), 1.25 kg of cow’s manure (POSi), 2.5 kg of cow’s manure (POS2). The result of the research showed organic manure gave the significant effect to the growing and yield of kailan, the chiken manure with dossage 2.5 kg that gave the best effect to the height of kailan, the yield of kailan, the weight of kailan’s shoot, and organoleptic treatment that consisted of appearance, tecsture, and taste of kailan.
