Abstract

his research aims to develop and implement an underwater robot for water quality monitoring using the Mamdani Fuzzy Logic method. The background of this research is the need for technology capable of efficiently and accurately monitoring water quality, especially in areas that are difficult for humans to reach. Water is one of the most crucial natural resources for life, but its quality is often threatened by human activities and environmental pollution. The underwater robot developed in this study is equipped with pH sensors, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) sensors, and turbidity sensors. The data obtained from these sensors are processed using the Mamdani Fuzzy Logic method to provide real-time water quality assessment. This method was chosen for its ability to handle uncertainty and data variability, providing more accurate and reliable results. Tests were conducted on three types of water: well water, soapy water, and rainwater. The results showed that this underwater robot could measure and categorize water quality with a high degree of accuracy. The defuzzification values for each water sample showed varying quality, with well water having a defuzzification value of 30, soapy water 60, and rainwater 40. Data analysis indicated that the Mamdani Fuzzy Logic method effectively enhances the efficiency and reliability of water quality measurements. Thus, this underwater robot can be a very useful tool in the monitoring and management of water resources, helping to maintain the sustainability and quality of the aquatic environment. This research also opens up opportunities for further development in the use of robotic technology and artificial intelligence for environmental conservation purposes
