Abstract

This research aim was to study the effect of aeration addition and water pH growth, moulting ffequency, and moulting period of red claw (Cherax quaclricarinatus). This research was arranged according to factorial completely randomized design. The treatments tested were period of aeration addition as a first factor and water pH as a second factor. There were 3 replications for each treatment combination. The first factor consisted of AO (aerated for 24 hours), Al (aerated for on 18 hours), A2 (aerated for 12 hours), and A3 (aerated for 6 hours). The second factor consisted of P1 (pH 6 ± 0.2), P2 (pH 7,5 ± 0.2), and P3 (pH 9 ± 0.2). The result of the current research showed that the highest absolute weight growth (0.70 gram), absolute long growth (0.45 cm), moulting ffequency (0.92) were achieved at A0P1, and the shortest of moulting period was achieved at A2P3 (18.58 days) and followed by A1P3 (18.78 days). The water quality measurement showed that dissolved oxygen ranged ffom 2.23 to 7.69 mg l'1, temperature ranged from 26.8 to 30.1 C, alkalinity ranged ffom 9.33 to 34.67 mg 1 *CaC03, and ammonia ranged ffom 0.222 to 1.881 mg T1.
