Abstract

Pabrik Dimetil Suksinat direncanakan berlokasi di daerah Bontang Utara, Kalimantan Selatan. Pabrik ini meliputi area seluas 3 Ha dengan kapasitas 30.000 ton per tahun. Proses pembuatan Dimetil Suksinat dilakukan melalui proses Esterification reaction of dicarbocylic acid, senyawa asam suksinat direaksikan dengan metanol membentuk intermediet monometil suksinat yang selanjutnya bereaksi dengan metanol membentuk dimetil suksinat. Reaksi tersebut berlangsung dalam fase likuid menggunakan katalis padat. Reaksi : C4H6O4(l) + CH3OH(l) C5H8O4(l) + H2O(l) C5H8O4(l) + CH3OH(l) C6H10O4(l) + H2O(l) Pabrik ini merupakan perusahaan yang berbentuk Perseroan Terbatas (PT) dengan sistem organisasi line and staff , yang dipimpin oleh seorang direktur dengan jumlah karyawan 163 orang. Berdasarkan hasil analisa ekonomi, Pabrik Dimetil Suksinat (DMS) dinyatakan layak untuk didirikan dengan analisa ekonomi sebagai berikut: Investasi = US $ 27.522.541,233 Hasil penjualan per tahun = US $ 247.777.782,482 Biaya produksi per tahun = US $ 180.991.402,308 Laba bersih per tahun = US $ 43.411.147,113 Pay Out time = 0,513 tahun Rate of return on investment = 157,729 % Discounted Cash Flow –ROR = 165,7 % Break Even Point = 32,108 % Service Life = 11 tahun Kata kunci: Dimetil Suksinat, Esterifikasi, Fixed Bed Reactor, Perseroan Terbatas
