Abstract

Performansi alat penukar kalor tipe Shell dan Tube, Merupakan parameter kinerja penukar kalor yang ditentukan antara lain neraca panas, rasio viskositas dan dinding Tube, Logaritma Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD) dan temperatur kalorik, heat transfer dan faktor pengotor, Bilangan Reynold, penurunan tekanan, Bilangan Prandtl, Bilangan Nusselt, koefisien perpindahan panas, dan Efisiensi. Dimana akan dilakukan dua metode perhitungan yaitu secara manual dan menggunakan perangkat lunak komputer Visual Basic 6.0 dan Matlab 6.5. Data masukan yang dipergunakan adalah data fluida dan data spesifikasi penukar kalor yang diperoleh dari PT Pertamina unit HVU II Sungai Gerong. Fluida di dalam Shell adalah Vacuum Residue dan fluida didalam Tube adalah Long Residue. Analisis effektivitas kalor milik PT Pertamina menghasilkan penurunan tekanan pada sisi Shell 42,4686 psi dan pada sisi Tube 11,5809 psi. Faktor pengotor penukar kalor diperoleh 0,0069738 dan untuk Efisiensi adalah 55,2 %.
