Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur vegetasi mangrove Avicennia di Pulau Payung serta mengetahui hubungan kerapatan mangrove terhadap produksi serasah daun mangrove dan mengetahui laju produksi kandungan karbon serasah daun mangrove Avicennia di Pulau Payung tersebut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 02 Agustus 2015 sampai dengan tanggal 27 Agustus 2015. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kerapatan mangrove adalah transek garis dan untuk mengetahui kandungan Karbon adalah dengan persamaan dari Intergovemmental Panel on Climate Change (2006). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kerapatan mangrove di Pulau Payung rata-rata sebesar 1.945 individu/ha artinya ekosistem mangrove di Pulau Payung berada pada kategori sangat baik berdasarkan keputusan menteri lingkungan hidup RI no. 201 tahun 2004. Kandungan karbon pada serasah daun mangrove Avicennia di Pulau Payung rata-rata sebesar 2,40 Gram C/m2/hari. Kata Kunci: Pulau Payung, Kerapatan Mangrove, Produksi Serasah, Kandungan Karbon.
