Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the influence of waste (tofu and liquid lateks), waste percentage (tofu and lateks liquid), and interaction between kinds of waste and waste percentase for maximum density and spesific growth rate of S. platensis. The current research has been done at Basic Laboratory Aquacultural Program, Agricultural Faculty, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya from July to August 2009. This research was arranged in a factorial groups randomized design (FGRD) with 2 treatment factors and 3 groups. The first treatment factor was waste kind the second factor was waste percentage and 3 groups based on different lightness. The result of this research showed that tofu waste produce highest population density (3,8915 g.l'1 ) and specific growth rate (16,58 %.day1) of S. platensis. Percentage of waste and fertilizer medium was not significant influence to population density and specific growth rate S. platensis. The highest population density and specific growth rate S. platensis was in interaction between waste tofu and percentage of waste 50%, 75% and 100% with produce maximum density 3,4815 g.l' \ 3,673 g.l 1 and 3,8915 g.l'1, respectively and specific growth rate 13,57 %.day'1, 13,50 %.day'1 and 16,58 %.day'1 respectively. The groups of different lightness not significant influence to population density and specific growth rate of S. platensis. was
