Abstract

This research aims determine to inhibit sprouting growth in sweet potato tubers. The study was conducted in December 2018 until March 2019 at the shadow house of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Method use in this research was completely randomized design with 7 treatments and 4 replications, comprising of 28 treatment units. Each treatment unit consisted of 5 samples plant which is total up to 112 samples plant. The treatment consisted of I0: Control, I1: Natural inhibitor compound of Kemangi (Ocimum sanctum) 10 ml / l00ml, I2: Natural Inhibitor compound of Kenikir (Cosmos caudatus) 10 ml / l00ml, I3: Natural inhibitor compound of Serai (Cymbopogon citratus) 10 ml / l00ml, I4: Natural inhibitor compound of daun Jinten (Carum carvi L.) 10 ml / l00ml, I5: natural inhibitor compound of Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia) 10 ml / l00ml, I6: Natural inhibitor compund of Tapak dara (Catharanthus roseus) 10ml / l00ml. Based on the results, the effect of natural inhibitors not significant to inhibit sprouting growth in sweet potato tubers, even though tabulation of the best treatment is found in I3 treatment with 10ml / 100ml natural inhibitor of Serai (Cymbopogon citratus), can inhibit sprouting growth until 18,75 days.
