Abstract

The objective of this researcn was to observe the effect of dosage and appiication methods of nitrogen to aeveiopment of Cercospora ieaf spot diseases on chiii piant in fieia and ii expectea to contribute usefui information to avoid and eiiminaie i’ne diseases. This researcn was conaucted from ivlay up to November 2003 on Phyfnop'natoiogicai iaborator>' and green’nouse Iviajoring Piant Pest and Diseases Facuity of Agricuiture Sriwijaya university. Inaraiava. The experiment was arranged in factoriai compieteiv randomizea aesign, comprisea of two factors. The first was the nitrogen dosage (0,00; 2,25; 6,75; i 1,25 and 15,75 g per piant) and the iatter was the nitrogen appiication methods (airectiy to soii and tnrough ieaves). Each of t’nem was repiicatea three times. The o'oservation parameters were incubation perioa. lesion number, iesion number aeveiopment, size iesion, size iesion growth, sporuiation and diseases severity. The result s'nowea fnat the nitrogen appiication methods and both combination dia not significantly effect to the aeseases aeveiopment. The nitrogen dosage, actuaiiy 2,25 g dosage per piant, significantly effected to size lesion, iesion number deveiopment, and sporuiation.
