Abstract

The objective of the study was to investigate the effect of amendment various dosage of chicken manure to the attack of nematodes M. javanica on tomato plants. The research was conducted at Nematology Laboratory and Green House of Pest and Plant Diseases Department Agriculture Faculty Sriwijaya University. The research was conducted ffom May 2004 until January 2005. The experiment was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design with six treatment of chicken manure dosage included control and four replications. The chicken manure dosage consist of B (125 g), C (250 g), D (500 g), E (750 g) and F (1000 g) and the population of M javanica was infested 3000 eggs. The parameters observed were root damage degree, galls numbers, egg masses numbers, fresh shoot and root weights and the nematode populations in soil. The result showed that chicken manure was effect the nematodes population in soil, root damage degree and the egg masses numbers significantly but not the galls numbers and the fresh shoot weight.
