Abstract

The objective of this research was to investigate the cttcct of calcium hidroxide and the best treatment to supress anthracnose caused by CoHelotrichum capsici (Syd.) Butl et Bisby on chilli. The research was conducted in Phytopathological Laboratory of Plant Pests and Disease Department Agriculture Faculty Sriwijaya University, Inderalaya from September untill November 2004. The research was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design with seven treatment and four replications and each treatment consisted of five chilli fruits. Parameters observed were incubation period, the number of spot, lesson size of spot, and the severity of disease. The result showed that the effectiveness of calcium hidroxide significantly affected the incubation period, the number of spot, and the severity of disease. No significant the lesson size of spot was found. The concentration of calcium hidroxide (3%) was found to be the best than the other concentration, shown by lower values of parameters observed number of spot and severity of disease.
