Abstract

Pepper yellow leaf curi is one of important diseases of chili causing yield reduction of the crop. The disease is transmitted by whitefly {Bemisia tabaci). This research was aimed at knowing the effects of application of fermentation extract on the development of pepper yellow leaf curi and whitefly on chilli. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized block design consisted of 4 treatments and 5 replication. The treatments were water (control), TSNGlu, BP4 and BP4Glu, applied by spraying and pouring to chilli plants infested with whitefly {B. tabaci) weekly during 35 days after whitefly infestation. The results showed that incidence and severity of pepper yellow leaf curi was not significantly affected by fermentation extract treatment. Spraying method did not significantly affect whitefly population, except at 7 days after infestation. Different ffom spraying method, pouring method significantly affected whitefly population since 14 days after infestation. Spraying method did not affect plant height, but pouring method did. Both spraying and pouring of fermentation extract did not affect the plant canopy.
