Abstract

Dalam sistem kondensasi gas ammonia (NH3) di pabrik PUSRI II Palembang menggunakan Alat Penukar Kalor tipe Shell and Tube jenis condensor, alat penukar kalor ini berfungsi sebagai pengubah fase gas amonia dari gas menjadi cair dengan bantuan dari air kondensat berada didalam shell bersama gas amonia dan fluida pendingin air yang melintas didalam tube. Untuk mengetahui unjuk keija atau performansi dari sebuah alat penukar kalor dapat dilihat dari efektivitas alat penukar kalor tersebut Maka dari itu dilakukan perhitungan dengan cara membandingkan efektivitas yang didapat dari data desain dengan efektivitas yang didapat dari data operasi. Dari perhitungan dan analisa data, alat penukar kalor mengalami penurunan efektivitas. Penurunan yang teijadi pada HE UEA-452 sebesar 4,612 %. Dilihat dari besarnya faktor pengotoran yang teijadi, alat penukar kalor tersebut sudah perlu dilakukan perawatan karena nilai faktor pengotorannya sebesar 0,0093 sudah diatas faktor pengotoran izin sebesar 0,001.
