Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the influence of treatments (fertilizer, liquid tofii waste and latex waste) to culture D. salina on maximum density, growth and specific growth rate, yield of ammonia substrate, decreasing rate of ammonia substrate, phosphate total substrate, nitrogen total substrate and decreasing Biologycal Oxygen Demand (BOD5) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). The research has been done from January to May 2010 at Fishery Basic Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The research used completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 3 replications for each treatment. The treatments consisted of fertilizer 100% (control) (DK), liquid tofii waste 81% + fertilizer 19% (DT), and latex waste 37% + fertilizer 63% (DL) for D. salina of cultivation medium. The result of research showed that the treatment fertilizer (DK) gave the best influence on maximum density of D. salina (1,57 g.F1), growth rate (1,40 x 10-1 g.F '.day'1) and specific growth rate (6,5 x 10'2 %.day'1), yield of phosphate total substrate (200,89 g.l'Vg.F1), and decreasing rate of phosphate total substrate (5,65 x 10"4 g.r'.day"1). The treatment liquid tofii waste (DT) gave the best influence on yield of ammonia substrate (603,52 g.l'Vg.F1), decreasing rate of ammonia substrate (4,59 x 10'5 g.l'Vday'1) and nitrogen total substrate (2,82 x 10'3 g.l'Vday'1), decreasing percentage of BOD5 (90,51%) and COD (75%). The treatment latex waste (DL) gave the best only yield of nitrogen total substrate (26,45 g.r'/g.T1).
