Abstract
Penindaian Village, located in Semende Darat Laut District, Muara Enim Regency, is one of the areas in South Sumatra that has geothermal manifestations but has not been managed further. This research aims to identify fracture zones in one of the hot spring manifestations in Penindaian Village. This research aims to identify fracture zones in one of the manifestations of hot springs in Penindaian Village. Fractures zone function as a path for hot fluids to the surface. Fracture zones are determined from the low ρ distribution value against the surrounding ρ, therefore a 2-dimensional geoelectrical type resistance method with a Schlumberger configuration is used to map the resistivity below the surface. The results of the cross-section of path 1 show a ρ value with a range of 13.9 Ωm - 200 Ωm with tuff rock lithology, which is indicated as a fracture because tuff rock has high porosity properties. While on path 2, no fracture zones were identified that appeared on the surface. This research also used geochemical methods to determine the type and origin of fluids in the fractures. The results of the geochemical analysis showed that the fluid in the manifestation at the research location was of the chloride type and was an outflow zone, which means that the reservoir was far from the manifestation. The reservoir temperature at the research location is included in the high category, with a value of around 273.14 °C.
