Abstract
Energy is the capacity of the system to do the work and also the basic concept in thermodynamics and one of the most significant aspects of technical analysis. Closely related to energy efficiency. With good efficiency would generate energy by optimal. The concept of energy efficiency using the Law of Thermodynamics. First Law of Thermodynamics which includes the analysis of energy and the second law of thermodynamics which includes the exergy analysis. Energy has two aspects, quantity and quality. Quantity is not degraded when the energy conversion and the quality of degraded energy. This is justified by the second law of thermodynamics which states have the quality and quantity of energy and the actual process that occurs is a decrease in the quality of energy. A combustion engine in using, the operating conditions/load and speed of rotation can be fickle. To know the area in which the operating conditions of the engine can work optimally and get to know the characteristics of the engine needs to be tested. Exergy analysis now more widely accepted as a means to increase energy systems. Exergy, energy analysis methods and has been very widely used in the design, simulation and assessment of the performance of various types of machines to identify losses and efficiency. Keep in mind how much energy is needed and how much energy is utilized (exergy) during the combustion process, so that it can be developed in the design of vehicles that are more energy efficient and environmentally friendly. This study analyzes the energy and exergy apply to the performance of the tested diesel engine by using Pertamina dex fuel and tested on the engine torque varies. Comparison of results of energy efficiency and exergy show how efficient the system in generating power. Results obtained from this research that the engine rev with the best exergy efficiency is round 1991 rpm with a torque of 9 Nm which has a value of an efficiency of 22.89%. Engine rev 2484 rpm with a torque of 1 Nm engine is the condition of the working engine with the largest value of the exergy destruction is 81.82% and also has the lowest fuel flow rate as well as having the smallest exergy efficiency is 5,32%, thus it can be concluded that, the engine rev is the worst engine rotation.
