Abstract

In general, in everyday life fans are still controlled manually with switches which feel less efficient and effective, making it difficult for humans to operate them. Apart from that, people often forget to turn off the fan when it is not in use, which results in waste of electricity and wasted electrical energy and can cause damage to the components. Therefore, we need a system that can control the ON/OFF of the fan automatically by adjusting the position of the object and the air temperature in the room so as to save on the use of electrical energy. In this research, an automatic fan will be created using the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor and DHT11 temperature sensor based on the Arduino UNO microcontroller. Where the resulting output will appear on the LCD and will be driven directly by the fan. Ultrasonic sensors are used to detect objects entering the room, while temperature sensors are used to detect the temperature of the room. If there are no objects and the room temperature is below 25°C, the fan will turn off. If there are several objects and the room temperature is above 25°C, the fan will turn on automatically by using the buttons on the fan.
