Abstract

Hypertension or high blood pressure is an increase in systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure more than 90 mmHg Symptoms that occur in people with hypertension can include headaches or heavy neck pain, vertigo, heart palpitation, fatigue, blurred vision, ringing in the ears, and nosebleed. This study aims to describe nursing problems in patients with hypertension. The design of the study was quantitative descriptive method. The population was 193 people with hypertension in Indralaya Public Health Center. The sample of this study was 50 respondents taken by using accidental sampling technique. Data were collected by using questionnaire distributed directly. The respondents were 74% female, 84% elderly (60 years and above). The results of the study showed that nursing problems that could he enforced were activity intolerance in 28 people (56%), risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion in 32 people (64%), risk of ineffective myocardial perfusion in 32 people (64%), and risk of ineffective renal perfusion in 32 people (64%). The priority of nursing problem was obtained that the first priority result of actual diagnosis was activity intolerance in 28 people (56%), the second priority of risk diagnosis was risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion in 32 people (64%), risk of meffective myocardial perfusion in 32 people (64%), and risk of meffective renal perfusion in 32 people (64%) These results showed that hypertensive respondents had different nursing problems.
