Abstract
This research was determined the effect of using the fresh cogongrass as packaging filler on survivaJ rate of crayfish broodstock that was transported with shelf dry system for 24, 48, dan 72 hours. This research used completely randomized design with three treatments and three replications. The treatments used various transportation time were 24, 48, dan 72 hours. The research preparation were media preparation of pond water, preparation of filler material and preparation of experimental animal (3 days adaptation after arrived by producer and starvation for 24 hours), than anesthetic of crayfish broodstock with direct shock of low temperature at 12°C for ± 15 minutes and transportation experiment of crayfish broodstock with fresh cogongrass as material filler. The result showed that the use of fresh cogongrass on various transportation time with sheft dry system has a significant different to time of recovery and survival rate of crayfish broodstock after transported. The fastest time of recovery was 89.55 seconds for 24 hours transportation and significant different with time of transportation for 48 hours (178.41 second) and 72 hours (269.53 second). The survival rate after transported the highest was 98.89% for 24 hours transportation and significantly different with time of transportation for 48 hours (85.56 %) and 72 hours (65.56%) and after transportation the highest survival rate of crayfish broodstock as 90.96% in a length of time transportation 24 hours.
