Abstract

Background: Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic contagious infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is a public health problem that has become a global challenge. Non-adherence to treatment is one of the biggest obstacles in treating TB in the world, and is the factor that contributes most to treatment failure. The aim of this research is to determine the level of education and drug compliance of patient Tuberculosis at the Padang Selasa Palembang Public Health Center 2020-2021 Method: This research uses descriptive observational analysis with characteristic tests and a crosstabulation study design using secondary data obtained from medical records. The sampling method used was the total sampling method which met the inclusion and exclusion criteria with a total of 51 samples. The results are presented in the form of frequency distribution tables, bar charts and pie charts. Result: The results of this study show that the most common gender characteristics and those receiving treatment were 33 people (64.7%) male, with 13 people (25.5%) aged 20-30 years and 50-60 years old, 13 people (25.5%), 37 people (72.5%) were married, 32 people (62.7%) had a high school education level, and the final result of treatment for TB sufferers and drug treatment recipients was complete treatment as many as 39 people (76.5%). Conclusion: The description of the characteristics studied shows that the majority of patients with a high school education level and also patients with complete drug treatment.
