Abstract

This research aims to determine knowledge of inorganic waste management for housewives in Sekip Jaya Village. This research uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The population of this study were housewives in Rukun Warga (RW) 03, 05, 06 and 10 Sekip Jaya Subdistrict with a total population of 1,019 people using a cluster random sampling technique with an error rate of 10% which resulted in a sample size of 91 people. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and observation. The questionnaire used was a closed questionnaire with a Likert scale. The validity test uses the product moment correlation formula and the reliability test uses the Cronbach alpha formula. The data analysis technique uses descriptive formulas. The results of the research show that knowledge and understanding of waste management by housewives is in the high category with a percentage of 63%, as evidenced by the knowledge and understanding of housewives in Sekip Jaya Village who already understand the concept, types of waste, dangers and impacts produced by inorganic waste well.Furthermore, the indicator of waste utilization methods is in the medium category with a percentage of 52%, as evidenced by the fact that some housewives already have awareness of managing and utilizing inorganic waste into creative and marketable innovations. So overall, knowledge of inorganic waste management for housewives is classified as being in the medium category at 52.5%. Keywords : Knowledge, Inorganic Waste Management, Housewife
