Abstract

The increasing need for chicken meat causes farmers to need to increase chicken productivity. A method that can be used to increase chicken productivity is using prebiotics. Prebiotics are a food source to increase non-pathogenic bacteria that benefit livestock and do not leave residue in the livestock's body. This study aims to determine the effect of administering pineapple peel prebiotics and Indigofera zollingeriana on the performance of broiler chickens. This research was carried out in October 2023 at the Animal Nutrition and Feed and Cage Laboratory, Livestock Industry Technology Department, Livestock Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The research design used in this research was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications, each experimental cage unit consisting of 5 freebroiler chickens. The treatments used were P0 (basal diet without prebiotics), P1 (administering 0.25% prebiotic fermented pineapple peel and Indigofera leaves), P2 (administering 0.50% prebiotic fermented pineapple peel and Indigofera leaves), P3 (administering 0, 75% prebiotic fermentation of pineapple peel and Indigofera leaves) and P4 (Administration of 1.00% prebiotic fermentation of pineapple peel and Indigofera leaves). The variables observed were ration consumption, body weight gain and ration conversion. The data was analyzed using ANOVA and if it showed significant differences, it was continued with the Duncan test. Providing prebiotics in the form of fermented pineapple peel and Indigofera leaves in the ration showed results that had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the ration consumption value of 76.62-77.11 g/head/day, body weight gain of 56.12-59.69 g/head/day and ration conversion of 1.42-1.58. Providing prebiotic fermented pineapple peel and Indigofera leaves at a level of 1% can provide better broiler chicken performance results. Cara yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas ayam yaitu pemberian prebiotik. Prebiotik adalah sumber makanan untuk meningkatkan bakteri non patogen yang menguntungkan ternak dan tidak meninggalkan residu pada tubuh ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari pemberian prebiotik kulit nenas dan Indigofera zollingeriana terhadap peforma ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2023 di Laboratorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak dan Peternakan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, tiap unit kandang percobaan terdiri dari 5 ekor ayam broiler. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah berupa P0 (ransum basal tanpa prebiotik), P1 (Pemberian 0,25% prebiotik fermentasi kulit nenas dan daun Indigofera), P2 (Pemberian 0,50% prebiotik fermentasi kulit nenas dan daun Indigofera), P3 (Pemberian 0,75% prebiotik fermentasi kulit nenas dan daun Indigofera) dan P4 (Pemberian 1,00% prebiotik fermentasi kulit nenas dan daun Indigofera). Peubah yang diamati yaitu konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum. Data dianalisis dengan ANOVA dan apabila menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Pemberian prebiotik berupa fermentasi kulit nenas dan daun Indigofera dalam ransum menunjukkan hasil yang berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap nilai konsumsi ransum sebesar 76,62-77,11 g/ekor/hari, pertambahan bobot badan sebesar 56,12-59,69 g/ekor/hari dan konversi ransum sebesar 1,42-1,58. Pemberian prebiotik fermentasi kulit nenas dan daun Indigofera pada taraf 1% dapat memberikan hasil performa ayam broiler yang lebih baik. .
