Abstract
The aim of this research is to determine the social and economic conditions of workers at the sugar factory in Kertosari Village, Tanjung Sari District, South Lampung Regency. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method using a descriptive approach. The findings were obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. This research uses the concept of socio-economic conditions according to Nasution, which reveals that factors that can determine whether a family's socio- economic status is high or low include education, employment, health, income, ownership of valuables, and economic well-being. The research results show that the social conditions of workers from educational factors fall into the high education category. Employment factors, workers including having a decent job, health factors, workers receive mandatory benefits from the industry in the form of health benefits. The economic condition of workers in sugar factories in terms of income shows that they can meet their daily living needs. The factor of owning valuables is the impact of having a decent job and a fairly high income, thus being able to improve the welfare of sugar factory workers. The economic welfare factor is that workers get decent work and their income is able to meet their needs. Key words: Socioeconomic conditions, factory workers
