Abstract

This research entitled "Indonesia's Policy in Overcoming the Indonesia-Australia Deficit during the Jokowi Government Period 2014-2019" was researched in 2024 with the aim of identifying and analyzing policies carried out by the country to overcome the trade deficit. This research uses the post-positivism paradigm and literature review method in which researchers collect as much data as possible from secondary data consisting of 25 journals, 3 books, 15 articles and 35 online news as data to be analyzed. The results of this study explain that bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Australia has created a deficit for the country, the existence of the IA- CEPA policy does not in fact make Indonesia free from deficits so that there are four policies carried out by the Indonesian government to overcome the trade deficit, namely tariff policies, reducing import quotas, export subsidies and local content requirements for products made from superior raw materials. In this study, researchers hope that the government continues to make strategic and comprehensive efforts in determining the direction of policies related to the country's economy.
