Abstract

Fragmentation is one of the indicators that a rock blasting process must have to achieve good blasting success. In this case, the size of fragmentation produced has an impact on the excavation and loading procedures of rock blasting. To ensure that the blasting process can run in accordance with the function and meet the standard results, this research adjusts the berat of the existing Dayagel explosive and looks at the resulting fragmentation results. This research problem was solved by using an experimental research method with an intact group comparison model by dividing one research subject into a control group (not given special treatment) and an experimental group (given special treatment). The research methods used include literature review and data collection as primary and secondary data, data processing, and conclusions and recommendations. The fragmentation data will be presented in the form of fragmentation results taken from one blasting block with two blasting times with different blasting material filling treatments, namely with the composition of 1 Dayagel primer weighing 200 grams per blast hole and with the addition of the composition of two Dayagel primers weighing 2 × 200 grams per blast hole. From the results of the experiments conducted, it shows the shrinkage of the number of boulders from each experiment which originally had an average percentage of fragmentation that escaped the boulder category of 77.99% to 98.97% after the addition of the weight of Dayagel used while the results of blasting vibration data with the addition of Dayagel are the largest at 2.029 mm/s which is still below the safe limit according to Rule of Minister of Environment Number 49 Year 1996 which has a vibration exposure limit of 5 mm/s and has the highest sound noise level of 58.5 dB which is still below the maximum sound noise level limit according to Kepmen Lingkungan Hidup No. 48 Tahun 1996 which is 55 dB.
