Abstract
The objective of this research was to know levels of shading application to aerophonic system on growth and yield of lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. Crispa L.). Research was done fforn Desember 2004 until January 2005 in plastic house. The research treatment consisted of four shading levels: without shading or N0 (light intensity 100% in plastic house equal with full daylight intensity 51,54 %), shading with two paranet layers or Nt (light intensity 52,2%), shading with three paranet layer or N2 (light intensity 48,3%), shading with four paranet layers or N3 (light intensity 38,6%). To analyzed difference among treatment was used t-test, while consumer response on yield of lettuce was analyzed with hedonic test. Each treatment consisted of 60 plants with 15 plants as sample. Parameters observed was plant height, leaf number, leaf area, chlorophyll contents, fresh weight, shoot root ratio (dry weight basic), leaf color, leaf taste, plant texture. The result of this research showed that shading application significantly effect leaf color, leaf taste, and leaf texture, but not effect the leaf number, leaf area, chlorophylls contents, plant fresh weight, and plant shoot root ratio.
