Abstract

One of the essential human needs that cannot be separated is water. In the city of Palembang, the demand for drinking water continues to increase along with the population growth and urban development. However, the availability of drinking water, both quantitatively and qualitatively, is still insufficient, and the existing water management system is not optimal in terms of planning, production, distribution, finance, supervision, and service. PDAM Tirta Salam, the water provider in Palembang, faces criticism related to its billing and clean water distribution services, which are deemed inadequate. The development of an information system application based on User-Centered Design (UCD) is proposed as a solution to address these issues. UCD focuses on the needs and preferences of users, which is expected to improve the efficiency and usability of the system for customers. Keywords : PDAM, Distribution, Customers, UCD, Information SystemSalah satu kebutuhan pokok manusia yang tidak terpisahkan adalah air. Di kota Palembang, kebutuhan air minum terus meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan penduduk dan perkembangan kota. Namun, ketersediaan air minum secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif masih belum mencukupi, dan sistem pengelolaan air minum yang ada belum optimal dalam hal perencanaan, produksi, pendistribusian, keuangan, pengawasan, serta pelayanan. PDAM Tirta Salam, penyedia air di Palembang, menghadapi kritik terkait sistem pelayanan tagihan dan penyaluran air bersih yang kurang memadai. Pengembangan aplikasi sistem informasi berbasis User Centered Design (UCD) diusulkan sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi masalah ini. UCD berfokus pada kebutuhan dan preferensi pengguna, yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan kemudahan penggunaan sistem bagi pelanggan.
